    Default delay after turning key...

    Hey all,

Have any of you had this before:

Sometimes, like maybe 1 in 5 times, after i turn the ignition to start the car there is a slight delay like 1 -2 seconds before it actually turns over and starts.

I'm thinking coil pack possibly? Anyone?

Check the earth lead for the starter motor is secure, also when the car starts up does it idle and run fine?

could also be your ignition relay, or the starter motor could be on its way out.

A guy i knew had a VN 5.0 and one day the car just would not start, took the starter motor off and tiped it upside down..... it was full of oil. thats what happens when you buy a 5.0 that had the absolute guts strapped out of it, the bastards use as much oil as petrol and unfortunately alot of the oil was ending up in the starter motor lol.

thanks boys, it turned out to be the battery. the battery that i was using was only a 270cca, put in a 520cca and now its all good - it even made the alarm work again (hasn't worked for close to a year!)
