i took the dash out of my vp (lexcen vp) today and found two electronic boxes under the dash one actually bolted onto the back of the dash so you could not see it or anything unless the dash is taken out and i do not know what they are for. the larger one is the one that was bolted on the back of the dash near the glove box. the smaller one was sorta behind the dash near the passengers kick panel. the car has electric mirrors and an emobiliser so im wondering if one may be for the emobiliser? even if so what is the other for?
and as you can see the small one has a cable tie making sure the plug stays in (the plug is not even broken) so it seems important? lol![]()

I'd say their both for your immobiliser. I ripped all the electrics out of my VP a while back and found the same things. I found one over near the passenger kick panel and one under the steering column. If the wires are cut and joined at all different points theyre deffinatly your immobilisers. Be aware tho if you rip them out your car wont be able to start until u bypass the immobiliser...![]()
i seem to remember a thread about a part that looked very much like the first pic and I dont think anyone came up with a definitive answer to what it was. will try and find thread and post it
Take it out n see what stops working :P haha that's my way of working things out, or trace all your wires n you'll get you answer.
well taking it out wont help. the car has a blown engine, and most things gone so its not going at all lol. tracing the wires i can't be stuffed doing that.
The small one is the Central Locking unit.
"Kiekert is a system partner to nearly all major automobile manufacturers (including DaimlerChrysler, BMW, Ford, VW/Audi and GM). Products include highly-integrated system locks as well as complex door modules."
Don't know on the other one.

lol just leave it then if you can't be bothered tracing it all. it stays there and it does what ever it does, n by the sounds it might be your immobiliser and your central locking. If your curious to check it out, have a look at the colours of the wires on the central locking one, and have a look through the gaps in the door and the body, if the wires match up colours then bam, theres your answer to one of them.
An FCC ID would be nice. can be easily traced from there.

How about you break into someone elses commy and rip theirs out and see what happens![]()
Apparently the Kiekert 90 356 128 is a Zero Voltage Controller from my searches with the GM Dataset, usually found near the PAX side kick panel, in the engine bay, under dash or under the PAX seat. GM 90 378 651 (Often Mistaken with the 90 356 128) does the power to the feul pump, IAC and i think ECU. The Difference is in the number of wires on the cable connector, 4 loops Vs 8? or something like that, ask a car sparky.
DONT QUOTE ME ON THIS, THIS IS A SERIOUS I THINK!

It is the Central Locking unit, that is the only product type that Kiekert manufacture.
