    Default Water pump gone...

    Hey guys, howw much is a new water pump fitted?

    Just drove to my mates house and car overheated, checked under the bonnet and water was sprayng out a little hole from it, so it means its dead right?

    Water pumps cost around 80-100(aftermarket) fitting can be done yourself with the basic tools. Getting someone to fit it might cost 30-50.

    Fitting is going to cost more than 30 bucks buddy, the old gasket on the block and spacer has to be cleaned off. Its going to be atleast 1-2 hours labour.

    i paid $150 for mine without coolant that was $60 extra.....they couldnt get the pump off the bolts were rusted i saw them at it with a welder a grinder and a hammer...but yeah about 1-2 hrs labour

    some of the bolts go through to the water jacket, thus they are prone to corrosion on the ends....a good thread sealant will prevent this happening and make it easier to get the bolts out next time.

    Thanks guys, but unfort its not a problem with the water pump, there is a hole in the front plate? (timing gear cover?) also have got oil in the coolong system. looks liek she is going to need a rebuild......will make another post
