Default Rebuilding a 304.... strokers etc... prices

    Hi all....

What would give the most bang for the buck in a 304???

Leaving capacity at 5 litres and putting in a cam, headwork etc?? what could one expect to pay for this? what power could one possibly obtain??

Secondly, if one put a stroker crank in (355 etc) what would be the other associated mods and costs???

    Thanks in advance guys...

    Dave

Dave, although this forum is really cool and everything, street commodores is the place to go for serious V8 building questions, lots of guys there running 4,5 even 900 hp 304's and strokers

A LOT can be gained from GOOD headwork.. I decided against stroking because of the hassels and unreliability that can come with that (wanted something with power that'd start and go when I wanted and for many years to come). I've got a strong bottom end with head work and all the good bits up top and holley carb and edlebrock mani (obviously u have ingection). Best bet.. get some recommended places in your area and have a chat with them

Id look into crane or crow cam package, new inlet from edelbrook and work ya head.

check out some engineering companys im note sure on prices but a hot cam and chip would be around 1000 k + and the way 2 go
    Cheers.

crane does a package for a 5 litre thats roughly $1200 for the cam and chip it would be money well spent
