someone plz, either shoot me or explain this, its sendimg me mental, i havnt been into commy's long, was always an export guy, now i know the vp has parts of both vn and vr, but plz, some one post a pic and highlight how to tell a vn from a vp plz, thanks guys, that would be a savior
I have a couple of photos for you, the first one is of my vn and the second on is of a vp wagon. The vp has different indicators, different grille & bumper. The vp also has little indicators in the guard near the door where the vn has not.

haha kool man i always wondered how u tell the diff between them aswell...
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
PM with any info.
Vp is slimer? and front grills are diffrent?
I had to sit and explain this to my mum one night,
VP Front end, The front bumper sticks out further, There are 2 types of grills on the VP, Clear and colour coded with the cars colour. Side indicators of course.
At the rear the VP has a Red garnish and the taillights travel more around the side of the car. Plus it's rear bumper sticks out also and looks lower, Number plater is in the centre between the lights.
And also it's rare for the VN's to have full colour coded bumpers, The VP's are all one colour bar the Calais. Inside a keen eye pics it but it's the exterior that has the most difference. Some might think i'm drinking but the VP is the longest Commodore ever made this is 100% truth. It's the bumpers.
VN front and back. First 2 pics, Then VP's 3 and 4 pic.

The indicators at the front do however. 3) There are quite a few colour coded bumper VN's around. For the record the easiest way to tell a VP from a VN from behind is the rear bumper - The VN has a 3 peice bumper (you can see the seals) and the VP has a one piece bumper. Also, the rear quarter window trim is different.
I was only talking about the length of the car being longer then all Commodores.
Your right on the shape of the tailights being the same it's in the design it changes as the lights go more around the corner. I think it's only the indicator that goes to the back more?. When you want them clear indicator tailights it highlights how differnt they are.

there's heaps of differences in the body and trim and engine bay layout, but these days everything is swapped and replaced and so forth, so it can be difficult to tell what model it is if your not lookin at a stock example of the car in question.
also vk_berlina...you said " i know the vp has parts of both the vn and vr"...
like what?a vr is pretty damn different to a vn/vp.

the engine also has a coupla differnces..higher compression ratio, etc.
I thought of one other thing, I think the Holden badge on the boot and bonnet? Was not on the VN's?
