vp fires up then dies

my vp series two commy fires up then dies, seems like fuel flow problem, spark ok. this is the first commy i have owned.

Does this happen everytime you start it or only when hot/cold?

doing it all the time, the electric radiator fan is coming on when I try to start it, the problem started about a week ago the car would start up and I would have to rev it hard for a short time to keep it running and then it would idle, now it starts for a split second and then conks out, probably something simple but I am not up to date on commodores, going to get a workshop manual tomorrow.

there was a green coloured three pronged electrical plug on bulkhead behind air intake. was unplugged, plugged it back in car goes now, AAAAHHHHH
