    Default VT brake conversions?

Is there a hub conversion around to allow the use of standard VT calipers and discs on the front of a VB-VP?

I would prefer not to be committed to buying non-standard discs/hubs, so a bolt on hub, to allow the use of VT discs, would be my preferred option.

I would consider a conversion using VR/VS front struts and lower control arms(modded top bearing plates?), and VT hubs, if there are not issues with suspension geometry, most notably caster. The wider track I can live with.

Is a change of master cylinder also required? My VP is series ii and therefore already has the larger discs and 'finned' calipers.

Yeh the hub adapters are the easiest & cheapest way to go. Get yourself a VT brake conversion kit and you will have everything you need to do the job. If you want the best out of the brake conversion do the VT master & booster conversion too, well worth the extra effort IMO!

I agree with about the hub adapters for the VT brake setup. With this setup it is recommend to use 1' master cylinder.

hmmm, guys sorry if i sound like a bit of a nuffy.....but what bits do i need to do this conversion myself? Obviously the VT V6 calipers are needed, but what else?

What about new discs? Whats the hub adaptor do?

Anyone got a step by step guide?

    Thanks

    Default Vb-vp To Vt

You will need hub adapters and they will need new wheel bearings they fit straight onto vb-vp stubs. The vt rotors fit straight over the studs and you will need new longer hoses to fit up the calipers, the 1" master cyl helps give a better pedal feel you can also do a booster mod.All parts are available off the shelf and i here Race Brakes Sydney is now open under new ownership they have told me that if you mention your from JUST COMMODORES FORUM they will give a 10% discount on parts.

ok, so this is whats needed to do the conversion.

    VT Front calipers and pads
    Hub Adaptors
    Wheel Bearings
    VT rotors
    Longer hoses
    Bigger Master cylinder (optional)

sounds like its going to be an expensive conversion....after all this is done, will the VN Mags fit back on?

    Default brakes vt

If you fit the VT brakes on they will fit under a 15" wheel the next solution is go to RACE BRAKES SYDNEY and get a twin piston upgrade with PBR sports calipers
and 330mm rotors and you won't need hub adapters as the rotors will have the disc and hub all in one like your original ones but this kit ionly fits under 17' wheels. They don't use VT calipers in these kits i have a mate who has a kit on his car and loves it and they give you the option of RED or BLACK calipers.
