Noticable Sound Changes

Just got a recon quickshift on Friday.

1. Car drives way better and banging sound has gone when accellerating/braking. All good.

2. Car sounds meaner as in VC V8 meaner. All good.

3. Noticable ticking sound at idle and low revs more like metal on metal but ticking sound does not change with throttle. NOT GOOD.

Any help or ideas....im going back the the gearbox place in 2 weeks as they recheck the box to make sure its ok. Sound was evident as soon as started.
Does the exhaust systen come off when they change a gearbox as it they be bumping each other cause they are like 3mm apart from each other.

I paid $1650 - fully reconditioned gearbox with stage 2 chev shift kit this was at sunstate gearbox and diff in maroochydore QLD...they said $1500 without the shift kit.

I was quoted different prices as i looked around a bit.

$2700 - fully recon gearbox no shift kit

$1900 - fully recon gearbox no shift kit

I dont know why there is such a price difference dont make sense to me cause about 8 monthes ago i was quoted $1700 from it without the shift kit but i walked in and they said they had a couple out back already done up so maybe they didnt have much business and just wanted the job.

oh yeah it comes with 12 month warrenty and they check it after a few weeks to make sure it is going ok.I wouldnt recommend geting one from a wrecker cause they warrent only the box and not the labour.

Is the sound mainly coming from under the front wheel arch but can hardly hear it from in front of the bonnet. If so i have the same noise and my mechanic said its probably the flex plate. You can really hear it driving close to walls and in car parks.

or it could be the ticking sound that allot of VL-VR's make. its the injectors i think
