When cold(especially in winter - air temp under 18ish) my auto trans can take up to 4secs to get into gear. eg from park to drive. I have heard the bands are shagged or low pressure but im not sure. I serviced my box about 1.5 years ago and the problem didnt go away. Im thinking of the following options-
1. Service the trans myself with the use of some additve? is there additive available?
2. Take it to a specialist for service, which i dont want to do cause theyl probly do the same thing.
3. have the bands replaced? how much?
4. dont worry about it.
does someone have some advice??
thanks
My old VB used to do this take seconds to get into Reverse, And sometimes it jammed hard on take off.
My VP wasn't the same but but longer in changing gears and ruff it went not long after a Full serves.
The problem with these Tranny's is you can't really tell much about them till it goes wrong.
But maybe check the kick down?
I had my tranny for all of 20min and lost 3 gears, The cable came loose![]()
