Default confused fitting disc pads to our vp

hi guys haven't been on for a while cause we lost our password and life has been busy....when we last visited we owned and still own a tidy vh commie which was running crapola due to stock varajet carb which in the end i replaced with the weber off a falcon and now she runs sweet as........finally. having got her running nice we have now purchased an ex hobart police vp wagon... v6, abs, fe2, four wheel disc and her original wedding car white paintwork and body is perfect..we have just sat her on a nice set of 17 inch wheels...i will attach a photo to this if i can work out how? Now my question is.... i went to replace pads on her brakes the other day..a job i have done many times on other holdens.........however i made the decision to buy a gregorys service and repair manual for the car while i got the disc pads ..when i read the manual to do the front brake pads after i had removed some brake fluid and got the wheel off it said to remove it says to and i quote "remove the lower caliper lock bolt and discard it" then has a footnote which reads "the caliper lock bolts have special locking compound on the threads and therefore must be renewed if removed" does this mean if i remove the caliper bolts i will have to replace them ??? the section on the rear brakes has the same footnote but doesnt mention discarding the bolts . i am confused and unwilling to undo these bolts until i know whether they need replacing or need loctite...any help would be appreciated...jack

i'll speak from my pad changing experiences on my VS...

I have never used loctite on caliper bolts. Never had problems with caliper bolts coming loose.

i hate to be the bearer of bad news, now i know people have done thousands of these and to their knowledge nothing has happened...including me
but if gregory's say the bolt will need replacing..IT does, they have an excellent team of technicians and they know their stuff,i dare say this bolt replacement is a safety issue to cover gregory's backsides....in my 30 years in the trade i have seen my fair share of loose calipers....loose as in just nipped up,not finger tight, just nipped up with a spanner or socket,
