    Default POD Filter Loudness

Hi, Just put a K&N Pod Filter into my VN. Just wondering if anyone knows how to make it louder. I am wanting total noise possible coming from the POD filter. Any ideas appreciated. I can just sorta hear it when im driving it.

how is it set up, is it inclosed any way? or just sits were the air box used to sit? if unshielded itll suck hot air in to the engine (not good IMO) but will sound as good as itll get

i think you can only here pods at idle, but it should make the exhaust sound a little better too?

I hate the sound of my pod..

It makes a f*ckload of sound at idle and going under 20km/h basically..

It's a big WOOOOOOO.. Makes people who don't know cars think there's something wrong with the engine..

It's also not too good when you're at an RBT and you keep hearing this WOOO..

I wish I could get rid of the sound..

LoL mate done start this CAI & high flow panel shit again, PODS have more than 3times the CFM flow rate, just duct it properly and your done... The CAI duct pipe & mouth is too restrictive for any air flow...

Bet you whatever you want your car will go faster with the VS SC CAI and a cheap 12$ paper filter from supercheap Hozzy : )

yeah, it is unshielded where the air filter used to be. There is another VN in town that has a standard exhaust setup and it sounds like its got a supercharger in it. But yeah, i am seeking to have that huge WOOOOSHING noise

Yeah on the dyno but it's not the same as the real world : ) on a cold night when it's 4c outside you can pick up serious KW's with the CAI

yeh and you arent exactly goin anywhere on a dyno, hence the CAI, etc isnt as effective

i aint gunna debate, but if your really hanging for the sound get one of these dude http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VN-VP-VR-V6-C...QQcmdZViewItem, it'll make your engine bay look a bit nicer aswell.. and make sure you box the pod up a bit to shield from engine heat, and yeah i know your all gunna say it's ally it's gunna conduct heat and so on, but **** engines get hot

i've got a CAI going into the bottom half of the airbox, with k&N pod sitting dead in the bottom of the box, and on of those pipes, mated with a v8 throttle body and my car runs much better, of course you cant deny the panel filter, but different strokes for different folks.

also dude if you want your car to sound nice get a zorst, that'll turn the heads your looking for, and for 250 you cant go wrong

POD sounds crapola on the ecotec... simple as that...

If you like the sound on yours... go for it... but the sound is the reason i went to a CAI

Have the best of both worlds. Build up a box for the pod to sit in, make it double skined with some insulating material between so minimal heat gets inside the box, and put a CAI in and pipe it into the box. Sure you can't hear the POD as well as you'd normally be able to, but HOLY F**K it makes a nice difference.

As mentioned above most good pods flow at about 3 times a panel filter, when you couple that with a CAI it's ONLY good news. I was mucking around with it and even before I got the box sealed up properly I could notice the difference. Sadly though I had to give the CAI back to my neighbour (I was borrowing it for testing), and never got around to buying another.

If you've got a CAI or a pod, put the two together. Make sure the box is sealed and you'll love it.

    have you got a v8?

ive been told a 3" exhaust will loose backpressure causing less power unless in a v8 or supercharged or trubocharged car,

I just stuck a pod on my car, When cold and it first starts it sounds very sucking or something like that, When i drive it cant be herd very much at all only when it's given to then it opens up, But i had it on once before this summer and thought it was crap in the summer heat, Now it's going great with the weather coiling down it's nice to take off at the lights with min power input for same acceleration.
