Well car went ontoday for her new engine, enough of a hassle getting the car ontp the tow truck, had to put her on blocks to ge ther up onto the ramp, she may be just a tad low :P. So sad watchin your car drive off on the back of a truck.
Will Keep yas informed on how it goes![]()

do u no if while getting it reconditioned, u would be able to get some engine work done cheaper?? since the engine is getting pulled apart neway?
[QUOTE=Salem]Last engine got a hole in the timing chain cover and Cracked heads, lots of oil in the cooling system.[/QUOTE
i thought the heads in the vns were strong as, it must of taken a beating...
wjere did u get the work done? cause i got quoated 1200 for an echange reco engine from walliston wreckers fitted i dont know about extra charges though
yeah i also put my baby in for new engine today. hole in the timing chain cover leaking coolant everywhere. rear main seal gone. think it'll need a new power steering pump as well. been quoted $2500 but i think it'll be closer to $3000. getting it done by geoff kendrick, pretty renowned engine builder here in w.a. gonna ask how much port and polish will be when he calls me
since there are so many vn's running around, wouldnt there be a place that has them reco'd and all u have to do is swap engines?? my mate heard that theres a place that does exchange recos for $600, didnt believe it but.
wat workshop is geoff kendrick at?
Was $2600 for a swap, from them , but becasue i needed the extras it cost more of course :P
Yea, Geff Kendrick has a good Rep....thats why i took her there, but have to say he was a little more expensive, but i wanted a good job done....but the only thing i didnt like is that he didnt keep me up to date with ifo, i had to keep ringing to get info, but when i did was great.
Cant wait to see how the car is when i get her back!
http://www.geoffkendrick.com/ for details, pls delete if i cant put that there.
Car must have ahd a hardlife b4 i got it becasue i never thrashed her or never let her go past a few ks for her services and got everything fixed when it needed it. 197000 ks and needs a rebuild is not good, but in the end im sure it is worth it.

May aswell just buy a new VN with that money, strip your old car down for parts.
Some people say less talk more action, i say more torque less traction.
nah, my car is perfect cept for the engineOriginally Posted by Infus10n
body is straight and near new paint job so yea def wanted to keep her.

thought i'd just say that... yea, it does look a good car for it's age.. at least you don't have the IRS probs that i didn't know about untill i bought my Commie...
Ok guys got the car back and can say it is the best money i have ever spent on her, she is smooth, doesnt idle rough like the VNs do, shes got aLL her power back and is like driving a new car, could be comparable to the VZs tighness if you know what i mean
Glad to have her back. The problem was that the coolign system had corroded and gone all throught the engine which of course screwed it.
All up it cost me $3395. that included new radiator and few pipes and a thermostat.
Only prob is they put my front bumper back on incorectly but they will put it back on properly when they get it back for the retightening of the engine stuff in a few weeks.
