    Default Transmission basic service

Hey guys.. My transmission and diff oil is probably long over due for a change.. has not been changed at all since ive had the car.. been a while now, so who knows when it was last done.

The thing is, everything is running perfect, so should i get it changed? they say "dont fix it, if it aint broke" and im scared, as ive heard a few people say, since they changed the oil, it never ran the same again!

If your trans fluid is darker than normal, just get a trans service.

Costs around $100. You could do it yourself, but I prefer not to mess with transmissions.

Your meant to do it every 40000ks or something. Its a service not a fix, just like changing your engine oil. So the "dont fix it, if it aint broke" saying doesnt apply.

Trans service costs $88 average...Only cost's more if they have to replace stuff... mine today cost $140 because i had belts replaces, filter, few other things aswell, and some stuff re-aligned to a previous setup...

    Cheers

yeah do it defently. You can either just take the pan off and change the filter and the oil thats comes out.

If you want to get it nice and clean take trans cooling line of and start it up and leave it idleing while the oil comes out, when it stops coming out smooth turn it off. The reason you do this is that you don't actually get much oil out when you do a trans service.

That wat i did but mine seem to slip into gear and slips when kicking down to third so guess mine needs a rebuild and a shift kit while i am at it
