    Question :bang: help with vp auto

    having trouble with my vp auto leaking oil real bad ( bout 1 ltre each couple of kms) and it seems to have a slight knock around the torque converter or drive plate. have only just replaced my driveplate and when put auto back in it shuddered real bad....asked a local grease monkey bout it and they said my torque converter was stuffed...... any further idears or do i have to replace the torque converter? can i get away with pulling the auto out and changing the oil in the torque converter?

    Well...it should be fairly obvious where a leak that size is coming from. I'd say start by replacing whatever is around that area. If it's a burst oil line, change the oil line, if you've got oil pissing out through your torque converter, I'd say that it's time to drop the tranny out and have a SERIOUS look at a rebuild.

    going to ask the obvious...did you put flex plate in the right way and use loctite?
    as stated look for,locate where the oil is leaking,could just be the seal in behind the torque convertor,if the oil lines aren't leaking,pan gasket(they are common for coming loose,and rear ext hosing seal(even though it's just one) i just have a habit of saying ext housing seal.

    did put the flex plate on properly but didnt use loctite on them. seal is a little worn and may need replacing.... did try doing up the nuts tighter but didnt help, all hoses are connected properly and same with the oil lines

    was it a new flex plate?...there is a dimple on the plate(or collar) to facilitate correct installation,if it was a s/h flex plate i'm sure you checked thouroughly for cracks?
