nice one! feels good to beat a new car... How much did your tranny service cost and what exactly did they do? I thinks mines on its way out. When its cold its takes awhile to get into gear.

I have only herd of them doing mid 8sec 0-100 times in all test done.
I would advise the CV6 owner to buy a Blower kit

I wouldnt want you advising anyone on anything as yet, You say your car's quick and you leave it in "D"..... It aint quick til it's shifted manually...... and properly.
I'm not having a go at you it's just, all the posts i've seen you make is really strange stuff or you suggesting other people to do shit... To someone who thinks "D" is quick...

Yep it is, But in a mag test some years ago the best they could get from it was about 8.5. But i think 7.6 might be it's best?.

Here are the figures from NRMA test in Feb 2002 which shows the quickest
0 - 100km/h time I could find in many tests. It is slow.
Any VN or VP in good nic should beat them.

Even the V8 is slow for a manual.

    Test Result Acceleration

    CV6 Auto

    50 - 80km/h 2.8 sec (in drive)

    60 - 100km/h 5.3 sec (in drive)

    0 - 80km/h 5.8 sec

    0 - 100km/h 8.4 sec

    0 - 400 mtrs 16.1 sec

    CV8 Manual

    50 - 80km/h 3.8 sec (in 3rd gear)

    60 - 100km/h 4.8 sec (in 3rd gear)

    0 - 80km/h 5.7 sec

    0 - 100km/h 7.4 sec

    0 - 400 mtrs 15.5 sec

How many CV6 actually got sold? Last I heard there was only one to ever leave the showroom, that's why they stopped making them.

Anyone know the final number sold?

16.1 400m LOL! My supercharged v6 is near on 3 seconds faster than that, cant beat power to weight ratio i guess! 15.5 for the 8 that would explain why i beat one by about 5-6 car lenghts at Heathcote raceway, you reckon he wasnt pissed off being beaten by a 78 model car with 6 cylinders!

I think there was more than 1 cv6 sold but there wasnt very many sold.

I've seen a yellow one here, man I never new a CV8 was half a second slower over the 1/4 than a stock VN V8 that's almost funny. But then again I think motor mag would have found some more speed than the NRMA

I read somewhere in a book at how Holden had plenty of engine and Transmission problems with the first Monaro V8's.

Hozy I had a VT SC come up behind me flat stick the other day, I managed to pull away from him in my VP V8 even though he had the jump on me, Later on we passed each other outside the driveway (he was visiting the neighbour) and gave me the thumbs up, I would say the VT SC would be faster than my VN V6 over the 1/4 mile but the VN would probably take it through 1st and most of 2nd gear, the VP could take him anywhere anytime. The Monaro is miles heavier than a VT so I wouldn't expect much from it
