hey everyone i have a few questions.
what does a cai do?
what are memcals?
what is a shift kit?

do any of these make the car go faster?
and how much are they?

they will all contribute to the car going faster, not by a lot, but added with other mods, they will help heaps.

a cai is a cold air intake, it sits above the radiator and gets fresh cool air from between grille and bonnet, doesnt suck in hot engine bay air, which is not good for engine, well, not as good as vcold air.

memcals are part of the efi computer system, tells the engine what air fuel ratio to ise, what timing to use, lots of little bits, with a modded engine, exhaust, cam, etc, and a well tuned memcal, it can unleash the beast within.

shift kit is for your auto transmission, it make it shift better, harder, smoother, theres a few different types that do different things.

cai costs around $60 from holden dealership or ebay
memcals can range from 100 off ebay as a basic tune to i think around 300-400 for a good quality tune, having to dyno your car to get best out of memcal.

shift kits, not sure on prices.

shifting gears in my vn auto was worst idea eva after 4-5 weeks it died

but thats without a shiftkit, so my question is wat makes the shiftkit help the auto?

i would like to get a shiftkit just like adam so would i get a decent one for bout 250$? and that comes with the flashing strobe light thing to tell me wen to change?

also wat would be faster same car sept one auto (shiftkit fited) an manual 4 speed and 5 speed.

im thinking 5 speed would crap allover both

Auto's in commodores are always quicker by like 2 tenths of a second 0-100 and a little more over the quarter mile. If you've ever dragged an equivalent commodore (1 manual, 1 auto) you'll see how the auto pulls away when the driver of the manual changes gears, no matter how good he is.

Check out any wheels or motor magazines also, even with the HSV's. So with a shift kit, the auto is just gonna be quicker again.
