Default How much for my VN?

Hey all, might be looking at selling up soon, just wondering how much my car is worth. To give you an idea: Its an executive v6 with 224,000kms on it. I bought it for $1200 a year ago. It has had a respray in the factory colour. It is lowered on bilstein shocks with king springs. No engine mods except for Cold Air Intake. Sony head unit, speakers and a pioneer sub, running off a phillips 4ch amp. Stock interceptors. Tinted windows and sports teering wheel. Thats about all.

    So, what do you reckon?

redbook isn't worth the text it's written in, all it's good for is so insurance companies don't have to give you much money if you stack and for dealers to buy your cars off you for next to nothing, if you live in the country where most people drive older cars than they do in the city it could be worth double what it would be worth in the city

you would be pushing market value for that car, 2k is a good point to start, i sold a vn s pack a few weeks ago, in mint condition, i couldnt get 2.5k for it, ended up going for 2k, no-one wants to spend money on buying a vn anymore

Thanks for your responses. I was thinking about the same price ($2k,) Any suggestions on future mods for my car, i might hang on to it for the rest of the year. Hopefully i will get some good wheels soon. Then once i save up some money, maybe some body mods (eg spoiler, front and rear bumpers.)

    Cheers, Sam

When i bought the car there were some crappy 6" spaeakers in the doors, no spacer or anything. So i ripped them straight out. It was a dodgy job, so i cleaned it up a bit. Took the trim off and neatened it up, then made the hole in the door itself better by removing the excess metal. I then drilled holes through the trim and the door, and attached a spacer. Then i simply used a self tapper to hold the speaker to the spacer. It wasnt really a 'hard job' just fiddly, trying to get the holes in the perfect positions. Hope that helps, thanks, sam

Thanks, So is there a hole to work from already there in the door skin and what did you use to remove the excess metal? also do the screws create any obstruction for the window when its down? Sorry for all the questions but i want to do it properly. Thanks again mate

I am not too sure about the holes alrwady being there, as i said when i bought the car the speakers had already been put in, obviously the guy who did it had to cut a hole in the metal to fit the magnet of the speaker through. If there is no hole, i think the best way of making a hole would be to drill 4 or so holes around the circumference of the hole, then use tin snips or something like that. I used an angle grinder to remove the excess, but if there is no hole to work in, you won't be able to get a grinder in there.

Thats okay, hope i can help!
