    hey all

I bought a Muff tip for my commy and i was told that it would change the sound of the car but it don't. And would people be intersted in posting images of there exhausts??

    Thanks

lesson one dont take any more advice from them?
if you want to change the sound you need to change the mufflers or do something with the exhuast
a 2.5" mandrell bent catback system for $220 would do this for you.

I got a muffler tip like that rice pipe thing at the rear of mine done about 2 months ago, I was after more sound then performence so i was happy it wasnt over the top but made it sound meaner like i wanted.
Here is mine it's not very big at all.
Bought it off ebay for $35 i didnt think the big twin would fit so i got the smaller one.

LOL it was actually very small and at first i was thinking maybe it might do more harm then good.
It's about as long as your Elbow to your wrist. And as wide as 3.5"?

It does change the sound....you get a slight tingle rattle at high revs which should equate to 250BHP for a 2.5" zorst tip or for a honda civic 5" zorst tip about 500BHP........sounds about right dont it

Mate, you drive a commodore not a rice burner. Go and buy a real exhaust, even just a 2.5" cat back system for $220. The 'muff tip' might be cheaper, but can you really put a price on your dignity?

throw a hot dog muffler at the back or get a new system if you want a different sound (larger) Theres a variety of mufflers out their, but I like Lukey/Walker' centre expansion chamber, a richer growl. Doesn't sound all to drony

the tips dont change the sound at all, its mostly in the mufflers (and any illegal mods you make to your cat converter :P).

All 2.5" pipes are simply 2.5" pipes, the different tones, grunts, gurbles and pitches are all affected by the mufflers.

Seeing pics of other people's exhausts wont change the sound of yours either sorry haha, try listening to other cars and then finding out what brand, and how many mufflers the car has.

At the moment my VN Wagon has Genie extractors, with a Berkley 2.5" extractor-back exhaust system that unfortunately has 2 mufflers. I bought another VN wagon for spares and it has a 2.5" system with one muffler, im going to swap them becuase one less muffler gives a louder, more gruniter sound.

    cheers
