Default VN seat adjuster is loose.

My VN buckets, particularly the drivers seat, are loose in the winder mechanism. By this I mean the back of the seat winds back while driving and I am continually having to give it a wind to bring it back up into position every 5k's or so. When it's in my correct driving position, I can just push against the back of the seat and see the adjuster wind back about a half turn. Driving me friggin' insane!!!! The passenger seat does it also, but nowhere near as bad.

Does anyone know if it's possible to tighten the mechanism up so it's not so loose? Any info appreciated. Cheers....

I believe this is a common VN prob. My drivers seat is realy bad and my pasenger seat it a bit better. Every 5 mins i had to re-adjust the seat and i got sick of it. I tryed finding a way to tightin it but no luck so i ran out of ideas and just adjusted the seat to where i wanted it, drilled a hole through the plastic adjuster thing and into the plastic bit behind the adjuster and put a zip tie through it. Its been held with a zip tie for a year now and havnt had a prob so im happy. But if anyway know a proper way of fixing it plz tell

Zip tie (very good idea and cheap) would appear to be the best bet - or buy a newer seat.
I should add that I have pulled a seat down but could not fix it.

Yeah i dont have the money for a new seat, well I do but id rather spend it on other parts for my car so the 2cent zip tie will have to do unless someone knows a better way to fix it proply?
