Hey GF...just been doing some mathematical calc's to see what my Calais should run under perfect conditions

    15.6s is what I get...compared to a VS SS...15.9s....sound right ?

and 15.3s if my motor was in an Exec...

For .3 of a second for luxury I'll be sticking with the Calais...

    figures based on http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au...J&key=HOLD97BU

    and

    http://www.web-cars.com/math/calculations.html

very intersting... I plugged the equation into my Graphic Calculator and it says I need 285 Kw to run a 13 sec pass

The VS SS will run 15.2's (at least in the manual version) and will be a fair bit better than that these days with good tires and more radical drivers . The Supercharged 6 in a normal non calais VS was good for really low 15's like 15.1 or .2 So I'd say a Calais would be good for 15.5 or .6 so sounds fair enough to me

I just recalculated according to my K&N adding approx 5 extra KW...

    just .15 difference....

The equation suggests you have 181 KW @ FW according to your times...

how does that compare with your G-Tech ?

Ok my motor in a VK 170 KW = 14.4s

VK 285 KW = 12.1s....WOOT !!! if I only just kept my VK with the 10 bolt

My VP is not making 180kw, it's just quick off the line, it doesn't gain any time on my V6 after the 100km/h believe it or not . Techinical problems, rubbing brake rotors, restrictive exhaust stuff like that, It will go much faster once I get it fixed up a bit

I'd like to know where you get these figures from, considering that in the VS, the Supercharged 6 was only available in Calais or Statesman.....
