i got a standard fully recon box for $1500 and with the stage 2 shift kit it cost me $1650 all up.....if you not gettin a new box i dont know how much for just the kit installed but id say under $600 to be safe depending where you go. i got mine at sunstate gearbox and diff on the sunshine coast maroochydore if your thinking to travel (i dont know where in qld stanthorpe is) they are pretty cool there they replaced my transmission cooling hoses for nothing as they went 2 weeks after the box went in i even offered them a 6 pack but they kept declining.anyway holdens are their specialty ive been toldOriginally Posted by _A_D_A_M_

The actual kits are quite cheap. Like Transco go around 160 (ebay) and there are other brands like B&M. Ring around and you would get some idea how much it cost of the kit and installation.
I paid around the same price of the kit and installed but i got some other parts like covette piston (shift smoother but firm then stock rough).
I hope that helps.
B&m sell a stage 2 shift kit for about $85-$90 retail, any autobahn store can get it in for you. part number is bm70239. i'd be asking around on how much to install one if you supply it. (its a two hour job for a professional, so if they charging $300, they ripping you off!)

what is different with a covette servo or piston. all i hear is that shift kits are bad but manufactures rekon there better cause they reduce wear. will putting a coervette thingo in ti reduce the harshness
