Vn Ss Trans

just have a general question here. The other day i gave my VN SS a bit of a spanking shifting through the gears, 1st to 2nd was fine but then shifting from 2nd to D I went into the overdrive gear.. (the blue D) next thing I know the trans goes thump!! then the engine was just free reving like sin. It wouldnt select the overdrive gear at all. Pulled over n put it back into the normal D and took off and all was fine up in speed i select overdrive and thats fine all works. But from stationary if I select overdrive to take off there is no gear at all?? Just dont get it. any comments would be appreciated.

sounds like you may have lost a gear 4th? maybe? im not sure mate try givvin transmission specialist a call for advice my thoughts
