    Default Power Steering

hey guys, i think i went overboard on the burnout patch last week, i was driving and noticed smok from under the bonnet, and ofcoarse the smell of burning oil, i took a peek and my power steering oil was all gone, and when the steering wheel is turned the smoke comes out, so im guessing that theres a leak.. someone sujested that it was the steering rack or the high pressure hose does n e body no where i should look for the leak?

best way would be to de-grease the engine clean first.... then put some oil in the power steering bottle.... then look for the leak with engine running...

i to have that problem no smoke for me tho just leakes. I just keep filling it up coz even when i degreased it it dosent leak fast enough to spot getting (its worse tho empties in about 45 min now instead of 3 months i will check it when i get time :S) apparently the high pressure hose is a problem in them my uncles went and i'm thinking mine is the same(its a pain to get of tho in the s1 so i'm putting it of).

also a problem with them is the pipes coming loose on the rack, you haven't used the reservoir as a hand rest have you, while working under the bonnet, and dislodged the o-ring under the reservoir.
the power steering on a VN is one of the easiest to do,little tight in space...but definately not hard or a pain....by the time you have your car on ramps/stands......10-15 mins later you have either the complete rack out or both hoses out...
