    Default series one 3.8 v6 auto to manual ?

    hey guys i'm looking at buying a series one 3.8 v6 commy donor car for my Gemini project but the engine comes auto and i'm not sure if the manual gerbox change over is easy ? and can you use series 2 boxes? also can you super charge the series one engine with the later model commys superchargers ? whats teh difference between s1 and the s2 engine ? thanks for your time guys !

    As far as i know the series 1 can not have a manual on an auto, something to do with the crank.

    Differences are
    series 1 has thermostat at rear under throttle body, series 2 has it at the frontof the motor.

    Different coil packs.

    cant think of anymore atm.

    really ? the series one cant have a manual all together u mean ? i did hear something about the crank ?

    you need an adaptor,or the complete kit 'n' kaboodle series 1 motor and 5 speed box from a wreck...

    ok sweet so i'd need a series one crank ? is that all ? what about series 2 crrank and series two box ?

    yeah i would buy it but i'm in new zealand too much hassle still not sure if i'm gonna buy this other engine if series 1 engines are too much work to convert whats involved i have to change the crank ? what else bell housing ?

    no ....you don't change cranks...technically you can,but it's far more easier and probably cheaper to just buy an adaptor with flywheel if you have one,or you can buy a CRS flywheel that will bolt onto your series 1 auto crank,OR swapping the lot from a 5 speed wreck..or donor car..motor and box

    if you already have the 6 bolt flywheel,i think it's $350.00...best bet is to PM VN88 he's just finished his conversion using the adaptor,he can give you the prices....

    just pulled my auto box off today and yes its the 6 bolt flywheel ! but i might look at gettig a second hand s1 manual box and flywheel those csr ones aint cheap
