    Default Washer Pump

    Hey guys,

Bought a new washer pump to replace old one. Still doesn't work. Can't hear pump either. Don't think its fuse cause wipers work.
Anywhere else I can look at.

    Cheers.

well when you press the wash button, shouldnt the wipers come on automatically with the wash?? when i press it, it only does about 2 wipes then turns off, so i think it is spose to come on with the wash... or maybe the relays or sumthing are screwed up

When the button is pushed the wipers are meant to operate.

If you can't even hear the pump then there is most likely a problem with the power to the pump, start at the switch and work your way to the pump, check the earth for the pump too.

If the wipers don't operate, check the relay for the wipers, then check the wiper motor itself, then go back and start checking the switches until you find the busted connection.

dicky pump switch....you may have to check whole lot again,as from memory you have to replace whole pod,you can't just replace wiper switch, and they aren't cheap, but been awhile since iv'e replaced one so may have dropped in price

I had this problem, but in my case my squirters were all clogged up, so i cleaned around the squirter opening with a pin, then put some hot, soapy water throught the system, worked great! If its the pump, then you should'nt hear it when you press the switch, vn window washer pumps make a lot of noise, just like the rest of the car! lol
