I want to do an engine swap in my vp v6
ive been lookking around and i can get an engine for around 600 bucks recond from the wreakers.
Now wat i was planning to do was to get the recond enging from the wreakers and pull my old engine out and swap them over then work on my engine cause shes farqed (am gonna put some go fast gear in it).
I was wondering if i have to go to the pits to register a new engine in my car or if i leave it then when i put the old engine back in no one will know anyway as ive never done this b4 ha any one had any experiance swapping engines over that can give me tips ( my inlaws have engine stands tools etc so thats np that wher im doint the build up of the farqed engine
when i changed mine , shit, i still ahvent reported the numbers to vic raods, but yes you so have to report the swap with numbers becuase otherwise it could be stolen etc, i ahvent reported mine, cause i'm waiting for it to blow again so i can egt another one (i drive with my right foot firmly in place) but it's your choice
hey Guys
When you swapped your engine did u have any trouble with the computer or is it just a simple hook up??? ( Confused redneck bogan)
Cheers
if they say the motor is reconditioned, ask for receipts,(or proof from previous owner)doesn't sound right coming from a wreckers...$600,thats the going rate for a second hand V6 with quite a few K's on it...Originally Posted by Dezza
as for reporting new engine #,it would be a good idea to let the relevant authorities know, especially if you have insurance,so if your in an accident or your car is stolen the insurance company can't come back at you(not paying you out,or replacing car),and the law,and explain your intentions, your rebuilding your old one....
