    Exclamation A Large Question

Hi everyone, now my large qyestion is about suspension, as you all know the suspension on our vn/vp's is normally buggered.

now i am at the stage where i have had enough of my terrible suspension and am ready to throw a lot of money at it as i want it to stick to the road like nothing else as i love corners. i would like to know

    1) an excellent place to buy suspension gear from.
    2) where and who can fit it as i am in a smallish city called Armidale, NSW and am not sure who would be able to handle this.( am willing to travel a little to get it done.
    3) i want an excellent job.
    4) i would like to know a list of evry little bit of suspension gear that can be changed as on this age car it is f*#@^d.

if we get enough info in this 1 post them maybe it could be stickied and help everyone out there with a vn/vp make their cars safer on the roads.

    thanks guys.

Full whiteline kit, mate had one, awesome, never seen a commodore corner so flat and stiff and sit sideways so well. And nolathane through everything you can, i think most mechanics should be able to do the whole job, its around the $1500 for parts alone i think

You can get a whiteline kit (Low, the works) for $1200, add to that a strut tower brace (don't know price exactly) about $150(?) and then as Sir SV3800 said, anything that hasn't just been replaced with whiteline bushes should be changed to nolathane.

From what I've heard, it isn't too hard to fit it all yourself, then all you need is a good wheel alignment and you're all set to corner.

i was thinking a whitline kit, probably the works with a heaps of the options thats come with it, also yeh the nothalane bushes definatly tempted me the only other thing is that some people rekon that in some parts or your car, not sure which part but they rekon that the nothalanes are too ridgid and prone to breaking. any one got any thoughts on that.

i was also maybe thinking some bilstein or koni but they dont make all the parts i am after do they, i have had a bit of a look and cannot seem to find much info.

at the same time i am also looking at putting some 4 pot ap racing or brembo calipers with 330 mm slotted rotors on and sumthing to mach thats fairly big at the back (probably twins) with this type of setup will i need bigger, better or newer master cylinder ( already got 1 inch) or anything.

    thanks James

With a brake upgrade as big as that, your definatly in the hotseat for a new master cylinder, people upgrading to VT brakes generally upgrade the cylinder, and your going bigger all round than what the VT had, i doubt the one inch would be sufficient, but i could be wrong

I don't know much about the brake upgrade, but I have heard the same thing about throwing nolathane all over the car. The only problem is that no one has posted up WHICH parts of the car become too stiff/harsh with the nolathane on it. The way I see it is just get the nolathane kit and check it all fairly regularly, and any that crack, just replace with rubber Sure it's not perfect, but it would work.
