ok in my vp the lock on the glovebox fudged itself shut and i had to break the lock to open it... now its stuck open. how do i remove the glove box? thx![]()
I've just had the same problem of being locked and can't open it.
on the right hand courner is a black rod (where it pivots). get a screw driver to move the rod or use your hands. Once the rod is out drop the glovebox.
ah, awsum thanx how much did a new gluvbox cost ya?
If you haven't broken the glove box only the lock/button, just replace the lock/button and transfer the lock cylinder over.
If you go to the wreckers almost every car has had the glovebox riped out and thrown in the back seat. So they won't be hard to find, just offer them 10 bucks for it because they're not really a high demand part.
hmm, thx then how do i get the lock part out?
Some lil buggar broke in my car and ripped the bottom part of the glovebox, where the black pin slots into. The glovebox its self is fine.
How do I replace that part, do I need the whole dash?
I've haven't got glovebox yet as it's still in good condition and haven't attemped opening it yet till the weekend. As for the lock it cost at holden 100 new but I'm sure wreakers can give it to you cheap.
Cheers
Umm, i'll get back to you on that one.Originally Posted by gocommygo
