i got 9.58sec thats with CAI, extractors, 3"cat, 2.5" zorst and rebuilt quickshift tranny so i guess my engine is a bit sick maybe. i thought it was going a bit better with the work done
Most road tests got between 7.9 and 8.2 0-100, I never heard of a vn doing over 9.5 not even with 350,000ks and running on lpg, but at least you know it can improve!![]()
I thought you got 6.95 seconds???Originally Posted by greenfoam

Mine wasn't an original road test
Has twice as good tires as the ones that came from the factory and some stuff done to it and the 6.95 was to 60mph which is less but yeah my car will be like 7.25/7.3 or 7.5 (if the g-tech reads a bit fast) to 100
i was only gunna get a chip and that would be me for a while in the mods dept or should i be spending it elsewhere.......ive heard something about a stroker kit or something it turns your 3.8 litre to 4.5 litre any comments
i thought it was 4.2 litre?

it could be 4.2L not 100% sure the mech said it would be close to v8 but either way i see it as inbetween
As Greenfoam said but that's for the Autos, manual SI was tested between 7.57 and 8.0.
Of interest Holden ads for the S manual stated 8.5 but Wheels and Motor mags both got 7.6 when testing.
Never

That is pretty quick but sounds right, my old series 1 VN 5 speed was quick.Originally Posted by Pretender
I reckon i could get close to that in mine if not better. I know its a VS but it is still quick. I might have to get some timing equipment to see.
I am just interested to know myself, i do usually (when provoced) beat VN's.
VX SS - Twin 2.5 cat back - MAFLESS Tune - MCAI
Has any1 in here NOT taken out the bell mouth in the back of the inlet man??
this is for VN to VR. I did it with my first VR and f**k it made it alot quicker!!!
i havent taken off the bell mouth yet, been planning to just need the time. its on the list of many things to do!
is it really that much of an improvement?
cheers
i thought so in my car, but another mate said he's only made it a bit better
No i havent, ive been told its not good stuffs up the sensors.im waiting on a 70mm TB so i might ditch the back bellmouth while its all off and clean it all out. Let me know if anyone has had any probs with it out.
well the s1's dont have one at all, plus ive always found early model s1's to go harder, cause they dont have the inlet thing, larger cam but not huge and wat ever else they came with
cool thanksOriginally Posted by VN-88
The stroker kits take the engine to a 4.3L and are available from Bradey Cranks in Adelaide. C.O.M.E. Racing have one coming out too to follow up their 4.2L Ecotec Job.
Theres also a US company bringout a stroker crank out supposedly guaranteed to 1000hp reliability.
how much would a stroker kit set u back? and what sort of power increase were talking baout here. once i make some money i might htink about it
how did u time the 0-100km/h result?Originally Posted by S Pack
