Bit hard to imagine how much oil could get in your exhaust unless you have a major serious problem with one of the heads, like lost a valve or something :P but I'm sure you would have noticed that

If you're planning on getting a new engine in the next couple of months, I'd make sure those couple of months went by in the next week (at most). By the sounds of it that engine is well and truly fuc&ed.

I'm with foam on this though, getting oil coming out of your exhaust in liquid form is REALLY tough, most of the time it will burn off either in the cylinder or in the exhaust on the way out.

Dumb question, but is it really oil?

Geez, I have never heard of oil coming out of an exhaust in liquid form, geez you must be spewing some oil out of somewhere. But even buggered valve stem seals wouldn't cause that, must be a crack in the oil wells in the head and this would explain your oil light showing as loss of oil pressure because of this.
I would be saving very cent I have to get a rebuild or new engine, and do it fast.

It could be a bit of moisture in the exhaust coming out and taking all the black crap in the pipe with it. The problem is where is the moisture coming from? Manifold gasket, Cracked manifold, Cracked head.
I'd reckon have a good look at whats actually coming out of the exhaust.

You can buy a cheap $20 oil gauge, just unscrew your oil sensor switch, whack the oil gauge fitting in there, just for a quick test. Your oil pressure at oil should around the 55-602psi (around the 400kpa mark).
Yes you can run your car without the light sensor hooked up, I have personally ran a motor without it, but it runs a bit rough.

Since you're in Perth, I'll assume that the following list means something to you:

    http://www.supercheapauto.com/www/in...htype=4&rid=12

It's a list of supercheap stores in WA.

I have a VP that does the same and has been for many years before i got it.
Start it up a little what looks to be oil comes out gives the fens a little spray and it stops when it's slightly more warmed up. But when i drive around i get these real small dots of black specs on the rear bumper.
If the car has not been started in a couple of days and i turn it on and rev it up it will splat out a big amount of it.
But it never effects the cars running, No oil issues ever no oil lights runs smooth and great.
I have a pic here of what the gate looks like behind the car after 6 months.
Couldn't find a gate pick but look in the red spot and you can see what it leaves behind when on first starts. I can't start the car if anyone parks behind me for the night:my: .
I have had the left manifold done it might be the right now.

And if it hasn't been started for a few days and is STONE cold, why would you do something so cruel as 'rev it up' when you start it?

lol. Well i dont as a rule. But my brother did when he thought it dropped a cylinder like his car, He's was a funny one when it first started cold it would run what sounded like 4 cyl, And he had to warm it for 5min and rev it slightly and it was fine, So when he herd myn he gave it a little 2000rpm rev and it let go on my sisters brand new car.
But i forgot to mention before i have a dead Cat Converter and the car runs as rich as 18lt per 100. And smells something shocking on start ups can't breath.

I'm a good looker after engines our old car a 79 VB had only the rear mainseal and timing chain leaking and a carby went with the manifold. Other then that was as strong as anything the body died many years before but the Old donk was still strong as when i drove it out the front to be towed away All because of warming it up and driving it easy till the tranny warms and the car is at running temp.

For starters replace your O2 sensor (check the code first though), and your cat.

The O2 sensor could be the reason that it's running so rich, and a dead cat is a massive fine from the EPA, up to $10,000. Getting done for a dead cat is not a pleasant thing, my mate had to sell his car to pay the fine.

When mine went, I shot up to the local wreckers and got a really good second hand one for $65. Beats crap out of the $850 holden quoted me to supply and fit!

I'd really try looking into why it's running so rich though, with fuel at 130cpl, that's not a great thing.

I'm meant to be going to Bluechip guys to get it on the computer and see, But first i had to go away, then my Trannys went, And now the Tailshaft needs to be fixed so i keep putting it back, O2 sensors are real cheap at the moment to i must get one even if it's not at fault it could do with a change it's been on since 92.
My cat is burnt bad it's the original it rattles every now and then stinks dinted, 300,000km+ on it, I gave Tidd bro's a bell the other day and they can do me a generic brand for $190 fitted.
I have seen them for $400 just to buy also.

woohoo turns out i got oil pressure i hooked up a gauge tonight and its got between 40 -60 it wouldnt start cause i think it needs the pressure switch in and i didnt have a t adapter so i dont know how much these go for ill have to ring holden in the morning and order one but my mechanic said if you had no oil pressure or oil problems your engine would be ticking and sounding shocking not purring like a kitten i guess i just think the worst when something goes wrong with my beloved car so hopfully a new sensor will fix this problem
