Well since last night.. (Friday night) after i drove my mates VS SS for a few bog-laps around town i fell in love with the V8.. now i want one.Anyone.. Got into my VN 6 after work tonight and had a few ppl from the bar i offered a lift home, and i started it up and everything was fine.. but took off.. and.. It sounded like my exhaust had been stolen! it was rumbling and gurgling like an 8! then after about 4 km's we could start to smell fuel.. power was VERY sluggish.. i put my foot down and i would get a verrryyyy nice note.. but not great performance. Pulled up at me mates house and had a look.. no fuel leaks but the exhaust smelt pretty much like streight fuel.
So i turned the car off, disconnected the battery, *turned over the ignition* to release any power if any, waited a minute, checked all fuel lines which where fine, plug the battery back in *computer now reset* and she started up and was fine.
Whats your ideas on this? would it be the air-fuel ratio got messed up, or ive just had someone say it could possibly be my coil-pack packing it in.
Any thoughts on this? has it happened to you? this morning before work it was fine, 7 hours later after not touching it its.. bleh!
Oh yeh.. i got the 8 hunger now.. looking at a VR GTS hehe =D or.. orr.. im afraid to say this.. a Aerotop Supra (need to testdrive one first so i know what their like besides looks) STUPID VN!
Never Look Back
yeah i had a similar problem but in my case my car only sounded tough for about 2 minutes and then died.(sounded like a big carbi v8) anyway it turned out my dfi module and coil packs blew. cost me about $450 for new holden ones (since found out for a few extra bucks could have got msd oh well) but yeah i am pointing to dfi and/or coilpack/s. also check to see if your leads are on tight.
GRR dont you hate it... Trying to get the CC paid off for a paint-job, kit and Rims and everything starts bloody messing up :'( cant get a head these days, i reset the computer and its running fine... ill wait to see if it pops up again.. but yeah.. had that big carby v8 sound too..
(i reckon the cars alive because i was talking about getting a v8 in front of it... since then ive been having problems :P - no im not insane :P)
Never Look Back
ha ha. yeah always seems to happen like that you get cash to do something and something major happens that needs the cash first. it sucks..
hope she does not have anymore probs.
Hey man , ur looking at a VR GTS , how about a Group A SS VN , Approx same price for twin turbo tissue box (Supra) 1998 model. The Group A VN can fit 5 people , that supra can fit 4 , but really only 2 and has no boot space. Easy choice , either keep VN or buy holden lol.
Hey Hot-Rod.. i have fallin in love with the Group A SS since the first day i got my VN. But im at that stage now where i want a car that will last atleast another 5-6 years (i dare say my VN as good as it is, will last as it is without anything else going untill the end of the year). Im going to go up to Darwin this weekend to see what i can find if nothing i got my eyes set on a nice and tidy 90'000km 1994 VS GTS.
Oh just thought of a Supra as something different :P been in holden tanks all my life :P Just had a thought cross my mind about going to a lighter car (then dropping a 5.7l 8 in it looks like there is enough room under their bonnets) damn that would be a quick car with a ShaWeeEt sounding "voice"
Never Look Back
i hate you all...just so that you know it. I had to voice my disgust for you, it just had to be done.
Now that i have that out of the way...stupid supra...****ing peice of shit...wouldnt bother with it...they may be a light car but handleing is out the window...stupid little car...cost me a broken leg will you. And no i wasnt driving
lol johnny take a deeeeeep breath (through the nose and out the mouth) and caalllmmm down :P ok ok ok ill stick to the Holden idea :P (not that i would of cheated on holden anywaydont think i could ever sign any other make of car under my name.. it would just.. betray Holden)
Never Look Back
maybe your supra was just a shitbox mate johnny.
