V8 Memcal on Ebay

I have done asearch and mostly came up with results on V6 chips and the stupid resistor tricks. Has anyone actually brought one of these? they sounds ok for the price and the guy has a lot of very positive feedback. I have a VQ V8 3inch exhaust CAI and a KN filter.

I know some people say this guys a bit dodgy and he well may be, but that said it's so easy to make the 5 liter go faster with a retune that I think anybody with half a brain could do it. I wouldn't pay $164 though because I know how easy and more to the point, how fun it is to do yourself

yeah but by the time i get one of the 12 pin chip burner thingos and buy the program it would end up being a fair but more than 164 i'd say

Install to increase horsepower up to 180+ kw instead of standard.

id beware of him for that.....someone that cant speak proper english shouldnt be tweaking your ride!, horsepower isnt measured in Kilowatts =P

also greenfoam did a post on making your own go faster chip, and btw u can yes u can do it for under $165, EASILY, all u need is to go to the wreckers, get a spare EPROM, remove the little sticker and leave it in the sun light, the UV rays erase the chip as they are UV sensitive (designed to be flashed this way) then get a EPROM reprogrammer from Ebay and flash it with a tuned chip, (eprom reprogrammers go for $40-60) some of the ones on ebay are just really badly tuned, ie just tons more fuel in the map which can sometimes make your car run like a peice of sh*t and chew through fuel and sometimes damage it, PM green foam, hes probbly your best bet

oh yeah didn't realise the reprogrammers were so cheap. I have actually spoken to doctor bob and i think ill get one of him he seems like the man to go to after reading through posts

Dr Bob will send you a good chip you'll be happy with that, the V8 is very undertuned as stock so you should notice a big difference
