$5, just like the add on carsales.com.au says....lol....
id say 4...no more, its a VN with high kays.
re read post ok maybe 4 1/2....
aZK.
i didnt want to give the link cos didnt want use to know price or buy it cos i want it yeah i was thinking of trying to get it for 4 k
Unless you are buying a VN for pure perfomance purposes (in which case you should buy a V8 one) you would be better off with something newer. You could get a mint grandma spec VR for 4 grand quite easily, you might even score a VS. Maybe try and find a VP or VR that's on LPG, you will get one for that price easily
i cant get a 8 cos i am on my p/s
Get on the ground and have a look at the back of the engine, being a VN odds are that the rear main seal on the engine is leaking. If it's only a little moist, I wouldn't be too worried, but if it's wet with oil...it's damn expensive to get someone else to fix it and too much of a headfuc& to do your self.
If it's spotlessly clean underneath have a look on the ground where it is normally parked, any large oil stains?
Find out the last time the fuel pump was replaced (these tend to wear out fairly fast on a VN), ditto the crank angle sensor.
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.
If your buying a VN use the trading post to look for one, do it the good `ol way, 90% of cars on carsales are overpriced.

4-5k would be a good price to start. It saves you in modifying the car if you want to do it.
But with any 2nd hand car would have extra money saved if something would happen to it (mechanically)
What year is it?
if its an early model (<1990) then dont bother coz chances are it will 'death' rattle like crazy, and could also have cooling system problems.
but don't pay more than $2.5K it's only a berlina, for that kind of money you can find a low k (under 200K) calais for around $4K and at least that will have full electrics.
Please PM me if you know of any L67's complete with loom and ECU are for sale
it is 1990 and i dont reckon he would sell it for 2.5 k if its sound system is worth $1800 plus all the other mods ill try 3.5
I'm just saying you can get alot better than that for your money.Originally Posted by phat69
And really who cares if it has a $1800 sound system, just ask yourself whether you would pay that much for a sound sytem in your car if it didn't have one?
PS 450km per tank isnt that good, its 14l/100km (assuming 63ltr tank). my v6 used to get ~10-12(max) town driving and i don't drive like a grandma![]()

I wouldnt get it mate, I know it does look good, it has all these sound mods, cannon, mags etc... you dont know deep down in that VN. If you were looking for a decent nice commodore, I think you should hunt down a very good condition like a Grandpa's commdore. My bro bought an VP series2 for $2300 with 11 months rego from a 76 year old man - one owner for its whole life, you cannot see any minor dings etc, boot looks new, interior also looks so new, looks like it never been used.
Cheers
