Default Oxygen Sensors... a few questions....

I got a code 13 when I did the self diag test today (oxygen sensor) What are people's opinions about cheap brandless sensors? (ebay type) Are there any tips on how to install one ( I heard you should put something on the thread of the oxygen sensor stop it seizing) Any tips would be much appreciated

I always buy a dedicated O2 sensor for my customers cars. That is one that is still aftermarket to keep the cost down but the original fitment plug is attached so there is no soldering or joining necessary to plug it in. Because over time and the extremes of environment a join can build up reisitence and change the operation of the readings produced therefore the unit possibly may fail before time. Repco and most major car parts specialists sell dedicated O2 sensors. They are slightly dearer than the all purpose but you save heaps of time in the connection times, and they look heaps better and more professional. Most new sensors now come with thread coating already applied.
