    Default Is my gearbox stuffed???

    Hey guys,
Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed that my gearbox seems to be 'slipping' between first and second gear. It only happens when the car is warm and it only happens betwee first and second gear.

A mechanic looked at something different and said he noticed it when he drove the car and he told me that my gearbox is probably stuffed. I want to get a second opinion on this and was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Like maybe it just needs a service or cable adjustment or something.

    Thanks
    maz

You can easily make your car have a slow change between 1st and 2nd if the kickdown cable is loose, push the metal tab in where the kickdown cable is stuck to the bracket and tighten it a bit and see if that cures it

And if that doesn't help shit, As a guy who only just lost a tranny i had all the tell tale signs of dropping it, But instead of listing to myself and trusting myself, I listen to others who told me to have a serves done then take it for a good drive, It was waiting for that drive to, But unfortunately they can give you signs of going but in the end when they go they go, Mechanics really can't look in and say shit this is only going to last you 1 weeks or something like that.
Myn went on a long road to cobden, We stopped for lunch it was perfect, 1 hour later off we went i started to notice my revs were higher then normal but maybe not that bad, Then @ 90 i was sitting on 1900rpm and felt it was hard keeping the speeds above that, It got worse in the next 1min, Revs went higher till i lost drive, Pulled over and stopped, Hit the peddle i had drive off i went had nothing after 2nd gear and that was it there gone.

Yours might be nothing at all it might be the kickdown cable as myn almost slipped off straight after i got the new tranny that was a fright to loose all gears but 1st gear in a 10min old tranny, Almost cried.
Are you in Melbourne? you could see the guy i seen he will look at it for nothing take it for a spin and let you know. And even adjust the kickdown also.

Yeah I've read about the kickdown cable in the manual so I might need to give it a go tomorro and see how I go.
So basically I could be worrying about nothing????

If it's the kickdown your sweet, But if your like me you will worry about everything.

Someone said to me after i got the new tranny and it lost gears, Just what if that was the problem with the old tranny? I said please after $1,100 i just don't want to know, But deep down myn had problems i could feel it i lost all go one day and had massive shudders into 3rd a healthy tranny doesn't do that.
