i just took my car to trany place an i was told my transmision bands need tightening. Should i pay for it to be done or is it a DIY.
were bouts are the bands? does the tranny need to come out a bit?
my Gregory's doesnt anything about tightening bands... but if the tranny oil is brown to very brown colour and isnt red... thats a sure sign of the bands slipping...
apparently its like a coupla nuts you tighten up to the specified torque.
THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT
like its slow at chaining gears, its not kick down cable ive had another 2nd hand tranny put in an my cars rly slow now. i went back to mechanic an told him its slow @ changeing gears and its lost alot of performace an he just said thats wat i get for geting a 2nd hand transmission an told me to save up for new one witch he quoted me 1650$ put in.
They are nice to people when you buy seconds hand aren't they.
I was told the early tranny's in Vn VP you can't adjust them,
And that quote is bad mate i done a new one for $1100 12 months warranty.
