Hi All...Can anyone give me some advice on how hard it is to remove and install a power steering rack in a manual v6....It looks straight forward...How long should it take? and can it be done by 1 person? Thanks

Put the wheels straight ahead and remove the key and just jiggle the steering wheel so it is locked straight ahead or pretty close.
Go underneath and remove bottom clamp bolt in steering coupling on gear and loosen upper bolt on clamp. Undo feed pipes and have container ready to catch oil. Remove outer tierod ends at steering arm. Undo mounting bolts and remove. Slide gear rearwards to clear mounting bracket and lower gear sliding input shaft out of coupling at the same time. No need to remove coupling fully from column and lessens risk of putting on upside down and making it hard to do up clamp bolts (coupling will be 90 deg out if put on upside down because of the segmented spline). Fitting new gear is reversal of above making sure gear is on centre before engaging input shaft coupling. If its a variatronic you will also have to disconnect the solenoid wires at the connector.
