Default should i wait before puttin charger on ?

k guys, my second charger is in the post so now i have 2 of them, neither have been put on the car. just wondering if i should wait before putting it on ?

as in, i only have a 2.5" exhaust from cat bat with a k & n pod, should i wait to get bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, extractors and hi flow cat?

will i need a memcal before puttin it on as well? or will the kit work without anything fine ?

i take it your talking about those sc14 chargers??? dont worry bout waiting dude, they are nice and mild, if anything get some custom made ignition leads from queensland ignition leads so you can move the coil pack,
i'll do a guide soon on these chargers soon

i think ill just buy some longer leads if i can find some. whats this about compression ?

do you mean get a high compression gasket or is there something internally i need to do ? or doesnt it matter ?

also, is there any guides on how to get a boost gauge to work with the setup ?

you need to get copper head gaskets to lower the compression otherwise youll be forcing to much air into the cylinder and if that happens youll end up chucking aleg out of bed!! (bending a conrod)

Definately get the copper head gaskets, hubby got too impatient and ran our vt with a blower (only 6psi at time) and blew the head gaskets. We also had the heads o-ringed.

how much would some copper head gaskets cost me?

wouldent it cost a tonne for someone to put these on? like, the same as when a head gasket stuffs up and needs replacing?

Also, the charger has the stock pulley right now and will be running on around 3 or 4 psi.

I've been running the SC14 on my series 2 late VP, i'm still wondering if it has the VR motor with higher compression or not....

either way, the car's been running over over a month now, and been going quite flat out with tuning and that kinda stuff happening.

Have absolutely no problems with it as of yet... with standard compression.

copper head gasket is only a temp fix......jus run a lower boost on higher comp.......as u dont need as much boost to produce the same power on a high comp engine.......jus run high octane fuel and invest in a small cooler....

then l8ter down the track if u want more boost save for an engine rebuild and stick some forgies and so forth in

They say not to run the SC14 with a cooler, no point........ It's too little, just like if you have any internal engine mod's it'll give even less power out..

you dont need to touch the internals for this charger dude, just bolt on and go, as for a boost gauge just run it off a vac line cause postive vacumn is boost, i think your thinkin too much into these chargers.
they are an easy and great bolt on mod, and i mean bolt on, there is not much to worry about bar getting the pully lined up with the belt, oh and i'm gunna start offering machining of the pully for a small fee, you'll notice the S/C has 4 groves, your belt has five

hey what about with the smaller pully that makes 6 / 7 psi ? would i need some internals done for that ?

You'll need bigger injectors for the small pulley and a retune, 6psi isn't much for an engine stresswise but it will be making over 150rwkw and that's past maxing out your 19lb injectors, without them you'll run lean=bad and make less power than you should=bad

^^^ yeah definatly, plus most recommend a rising rate fuel pressure reg, but yeah a custom chip to get more fuel in is in order

where abouts in Brisbane are you?

I might need a bit of your expertise in the SC in
the near future. The pulley and all that.

I also read your post on sc and looking forward to reading the rest.

    Thanks for the help

i know some of us need it.

    Cheers

but i dont know sweet f all bout s/c and stuff... soo when updating my injectors where would i go and what would i ask for?
also i know you say you dont need a intercooler i just love the idea of a vn with a cooler hangin out the front so where would i go for the piping? is there a kit or would it be a custom job?
    cheers -Nic

    Dude

    you want:

    - 36lb injectors from a VT supercharged 6.. go to petroject in mitcham for them (look em up in white pages)
    - As far as i know, noone does a cooler/plumbging off the shelf pack for a vn, your best bet would be to go to an exhaust shop that's good with piping

ok so with the 3 psi pulley i wont need bigger injectors or fuel pump ?

around how much rwkw will this charger get me on the 3psi pulley? i have a lukey sports exhaust from cat back and a k & n pod filter thats about all right now.

also i heard that a rising rate fuel regulator is just a bandade fix, is this true ? how he told me was "it just dumps more petrol in".

with the superharged vt injectors go strait into my vn v6?

and last but not least will i lose any boost through the cooler?

    u will loose a little bit of boost but it will be colder which = better. vt injectpr will just bolt staight up. for the rest i have no idea;

With the cooler piping get a kit of mandral bent pipes of ebay then work it all out chop it all up take to an exahust shop and get them to weld it all together.
