its some thing u put in ur air intake put which circulates the air flow aparently giving more power and less fuel usage, but i rekon

    more power = more fuel

Do a search dude. there have been heaps of people askin bout them here. From memory most people say they're crap.

I think there just a placebo thing. People put em in, then start to believe they get better milage and power cause of the money they just spent.

I had one on my ba xr8, with the other induction mods, it worked well......

I presume you have a cold air intake and high flow already???

There is no merit in having more than 1, as a good one will achieve the desired air flow patterns.....

i met a guy last year wen i was working with some people and he own a f250 truck, he had it in his car but was a really good grand and paid like just over 200 for it, he measured the differences and it drop his hghway usage by 3l/100kms and city was around 1.5 - 2/100kms also gained around 5 killowatt at the wheels, so he swears by them and has them in all his cars, one was a vx and swears its much better too, so going buy him there good, but he i rich and can afford it lol

    they do not work.

Hiclone simply changes the flow of air through the air induction system.
Hiclones special fins create a swirling effect, this optimises flow through the air intake system and improves fuel-air mixing to allow near-complete combustion
give me a break. car makers model swirl in the combustion chamber to the nth degree using Computational Fluid Dynamics, injecting fuel into the port at precisely the right point to maximise atomisation.

but don't worry about that you can put this thing in your air cleaner which does a better job. it's a con.

I wouldn't touch one with someone else's ten foot pole. As stated ^^^ Holden (or in our case Buick) spent big bucks on maximising air/fuel mixtures in the cylinders based on the intake system they have. There's nothing better than a nice SMOOTH air stream for power. Why do people make sure their t/b's open to 100%? (to get the valve completely edge on to the air stream for minimum disturbance). Why do so many car owners mod their intakes to be MAFless? Because the MAF sensor seriously disturbs the air flow patterns.

Most of the fuel saving devices out there are a complete con. Let's see, if I were to put on a hyclone and save 10% there, put on Vaporate they claim to save another 10-15% don't they? Then there are the fuel 'catalyst' pellets that go in your tank, which supposedly save you up to 10%. Let's see, that's a total fuel saving of 30%. BULLSHIT!!!

You would think that anything in your intake pipe let alone a hiclone would restrict airflow.

nothings gunna increase fuel consumption if its injected, the computer puts how ever much it wants in when it injects, more or less air wont make it change its mind, so more power = more fuel aint exactly true. the more oxygen or air in the chamber when it fires the better, nothign will burn without oxygen remember.

actually that's not quite true. if you put more air in, the lambda (oxygen) sensor will detect lean running in the exhaust gases and adjust the fuel injection to even it up.

that's why it's called a close loop system, it provides feedback and adjustment.

that doesn't change the fact Hi Clone and every other snake oil device won't achieve any real benefits.
