This isnt a for sale ad but I was wondering how much my VN could be worth.
Just inherited it from dad who had it for years. Before that it was owned by the dept of agriculture and has done a genuine 108,000 country kms. Serviced right and rarely thrashed except by me. Needs a respray, rego and rooflining but otherwise is super clean inside and out, no damage.
91 model V6 5 speed with all the usual options like air etc. Totally standard, hasnt even had a decent stereo installed. Drives great and goes hard.
If I put a years rego on it, how much should I ask for it if I sell?
Probably keep it though, its a good one.
You'd probably get $3000 for it up to $4000 if you found the 'right' buyer. Just as a rough guess.
If I were you, I'd hang on to it.

because its manual yeah i agree with mouce although i did see a spack vn, manual at a dealrship with 240 000 kms on it going for 6000
Hell, I saw a duel fuel VN wagon going for $7500 at a car yard. But let's face it, those guys always over charge. Private sale for a low K manual VN would be about 3000-4000

Depends on how badly it needs that respray, paint is a big expense when you're looking at a car for 3-4K (when you've gotta pay someone else to do it that is)
I just bought my 5 litre calais, clean as a whistle inside, pretty straight with good paint, 240,000kms for 3 grand...... that makes yours worth ????????
^^^That's a fuc&ing BARGAIN! That's way cheaper than what it should have gone for.

Nada. VN's are without doubt the worst HOS commodore ever produced.
Reaper
Why? Ive had a few commys and find the vn a good mix of new and old.
Still prefer a real nice VC-VK 5 litre though.
I feel i got a good price, the guy was asking $5000, but i talked him down to $3000 cash and he needed a quick sale......
I have spent maybe $1000 on 12 months rego, converted the air con, regassed, new power window switchs....
It already had fe2 suspension, and a mild sports exxust system..... so for $4000 total, i am pretty happy with my ride.....
lol well i got a vn calais 5 liter 206 rwhp fully optioned with a rebuilt engine with jus over 20,000 on it for 5g
wrecking VL COMMODORE 5 speed
FOR SALE : supra 5 speed box suite holden v8 $800
cars deprieciate too much . your better off hanging onto it ! .
I was selling my 1990 VN s pac 5 speed with only 110 000 ks on it completely straight body and perfect interior with pursuit rims nothing done to it about 2-3 weeks back and i was getting ofered 4000-5200. so ur s should be around that price range. i decided not to sell, to good of a car to let go.
Thats what I was hoping, It is a good one and goes bloody hard so I'll be looking for a set of standard 7 inch steelies in new condition. Its got sixes at the moment. Whats a good tyre in a 225 -15?
The suspension is soft but its still sits up nice and high which is handy for towing. I guess FE2 suspension would be next on the list.
Yokohama A539 if you can find any left. I think they stopped making them late last year.
Failing that the yokohama C.Drive is meant to be okay.

I bought mine off my grandpa for 3500, fully serviced, lived in canberra all its life, and its a vactioner. It had 84 000 kays on it. Basically, they're not worth selling unless its something special (ie build numbered).
My vote is keep it!!
