I was watching some car racing on pay tv recently and I swear that one of the cars had a demisting device similar to what most cars have on their rear windscreen. Would it be legal to put one on the front w/screen, given that winter is on the way.![]()
It's a damn good idea, and it would be great to have it on a street car, but sadly it's illegal. At least it was when I asked a few years back, I can't see it being legal now.

Something about obstructing the drivers field of view. When you think about it, it's a crap law, because ultimately it's there to make sure that the windscreen is CLEAR.
Sounds like the law varies from state to state

RainX is the stuff, forget the fog and forget the wiper switch, you wont need it anymore, You don't know cool until you have pelted through torrential rain without your wipers on while everyone else has them going flat out
I checked the Vicroads w/site and there is nothing saying it is illegal, but also nothing to say it is legal either, why is it so difficult to get answers to simple questions? Answer no one wants to commit themselves to an answer just in case it's wrong. Hey, that sounds like the Bracks Labour Govt...Bastards!![]()
