hey,
my vn has this odd like gurgle noise of water, i can hear this from the drivers seat and it sounds like it comming from the middle (behind cd player or sumthin)
the noise occurs mostly when goin up any sort of slope and its just a weird noies.
atm im running normal water to flush it and will be putting coolant back in very soon cause the water pump died last week
could that be the cause??

haha i have the same noise buts its a soon as i turn it on, (it could b at other times to, but my stereo accounts for that) i was just guessin that it was the water running through the heater pipes that runs around there. i could be wrong and hopefully its not a major issue
THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT
yeh all it is is water pumping through the heater hoses. happens to mine and probly everyone elses, i just recently replaced all my heater hoses as they were all full of crap and rusted out, now the heater works a treat. also tested out the aircon and its freezing cold, and i dont think its been regassed or nuthin so the previous owners mustnt of used it.
you might find that your heater core is full of crap and the noise is the water forcing its way through
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
Also you might not have properly bleed the air out of the cooling system.

it could be water running through the heater core.it may also be that the core is leaking but you would be getting water on the carpet. What most probably is causing this, and it is very common for this to happen,is you have a drain for moisture that collects in the heater box while the A/C is running. These drains get blocked up with dirt and crap and dont drain this lets the water build up until you can hear it sloshing around. The drain is a small rubber hose about 1cm across and sticks out from the body about 1.5cm and is located above the transmission,so you will have to climb under the car to find it.Straighten out a wire coathanger then fold in half.Using the rounded end gently push this up into the hose and water/mud should come pooring out.Take the car for a drive with the A/C on then do it again to be sure you got it all. Please take care and observe basic saftey operations ie park brake on,chock rear wheels,USE JACK STANDS, note exhaust and other components will be hot after operating vehicle
thanks all.. ill give it a look

it could be air traped in the heater core or just sh*t in it
just take the hoses of the outlets at the fire wall and stick in the hose but not on full blast and youl get the shit out that way just let it go till it clears up
did it to mine soooo hot in there hahaha
Stato on the inside, berlina on the out side,5ltr under the bonnet, stockies all round...........that thing has to be a sleeper

When you bleed the air out I would suggest not just useing the bleed screw.
When flushing, undo the top hose at the thermostst houseing. open the bleed screw, fill the coolant up while holding the top hose . Air should hiss out. Once the coolant flows from the Thermostat houseing, rejoin the hose, tighten the clamp.
Grab a coolant container, chop the bottom off and put a thin slice of radiator hose over the threaded part of the container. Then gentally fit the container into the top of the radiator. Close the bleed screw, fill the container with coolant and run the engine through a few cycles of the thermostat opening. You will need to gentally support the container from the base as it can fall out once it heats up so bung a cheap garden glove on or similar. Also make sure there is enough coolant in there so when the thermostat opens the level will drop and also the level will drop as more air is forced out.
I kid you not you will be amazed at how much air is forced out even in a quiet cooling system. Really big bubbles of air will come out and they would not otherwise come through the bleed screw. Once she warms give it short bursts of revs by turning the throttle with your spare hand. come off throttle and more often than not a heap of air bubbles out. Afeter 30 mins ir so even little bubbles will stop.
Then gentally work the bottle off the radiator after you switch the motot off. Have a hose with the nozzle off or a soft flow of water at the ready to rinse the excess coolant away. top up the last little bit in the radiator if the level drops a little when taking off the cut off bottle and twist on the radiator cap.
Your commie will run much cooler and quieter! PM me if you want more info.
This was shown to me by a Holden mechanic and I haven't had a noisey cooling system since![]()
if you want to flush the heater core take the hoses of as said before but reverse flush the heater core i.e. shove the garden hose in the outlet side of the heater core, thisway the shite will come out the sameway it went in and your not forcing it throught the corewhich cooling system does your car have, their were 2 variations that holden have used with the buick engine, the standard radiator setup with pressure cap and overflow bottle or a completly closed system that has a pressurised resovior where the overflow bottle would normally be, the closed system should be self bleeding as there is always a pressure stream of hot coolant that comes outof the inlet manifold straight into the resovior
yeah was doing it with mine heater core started to leak so by passed it
since then not a peep from it
getting new one in
