I know you proberly have heaps of similar post, but after heaps of hassle i brought a car, its a vn calais, but its actually a lexcen, and one of my mates told me i was a commadore wanna be, is this true, or would you's still think of me the same lol
yeah I will. If its badged as a Toyota change it to Holden.
I FRYED RICE!!!
Change the tail lights, the centre grill in the front, badges, and noone would ever know.
Driving a CURSED WH V6.
I was so ashamed of my Lexcen that I removed all the badges and replaced them with commodore and put on a full HSV bodykit.
I phoned QLD Department of Transport and asked them if I was allowed to do this and they said it was ok.
"I feel better now"
It is a pretend Toyota not a pretend Commodore.
I am not man enough to drive a real Commodore or so I was told once.
It is just a Commodore with Toyota badges same as a Commodore with Chev badges (Middle East, South Africa etc). They are still a Commodore.
I did remove the Toyota badges on mine though.
I won't think of you in a lesser light as I am in the same position but one day perhaps we can get a real Commodore or trick others into believing we already have a Commodore. Parts are often cheaper through Toyota rather than Holden or at least they used to be when the Lexcen was alive.
I refer to my car just as the VN if you do the same it may ease the burden somewhat.
Never
$50.00 paid for each answer to a post of mine.
Please note cheques will not be honoured
cool, well im at ease, and i knotised if you change the badges, including the interior one, 90% of people wont know, cause all they look at is the interior 1 for some reason, they must see it as 1 people never change lold, well now all i have to do is buy a calais interior badge, or a full set if anyone has one hahaha
Funny thing is that Lexcens are usually cheaper then the commodore equivilent. Thats why I bought mine save $2000 at the time i bought it
lol, well next thing on the ajenda can people send me pics of there lexcens plz thanks guy's, i will be posting mine soon
i actually heard that the lexcens were better quality than the commodores, it was posted on these forums once...aparently it's because they are being sent to another brand they have to be top quality, blah blah, that sort of stuff...
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
PM with any info.
When did they stop making the lexcens ?
when toyota got the shats because holden wouldn't give 'em the v8
yeah iv heard the lexcens were better because, everytime holden would make a commodore, toyota would copy it identically and take out the faults, so they would alway be released like a few months later, but have othe shit fixed, up, but neways, lucky for me my favorite car is a toyota supra, or a holdn commodore, so i geuss im getting the best of both my dream worlds lol, thanks guys
Lexcen was stopped in the vr/vs era... I've seen vr/vs lexcens floating around.
Driving a CURSED WH V6.
can anyone post pics of there lexcen
why not jus buy a commodore
Lowlife*
Commodores are more expensive than their Lexcen equivalent because alot of people do see them as a try hard commodore. As everyone else says, badge it as a Holden because thats what it is. If you badge it as one, it'd be as good as any other in my books. If its badged as a Toyota or a Chevvy, then its a try hard commodore.
That goes for all the VY owners etc. out there putting Chev badges on their Holdens. I even saw a VT clubsport parked in town the other day with chev badges all over the outside. What is wrong with you ppl? Take pride in owning a Holden! dont wish it was something else!
when i was looking for my car, i saw heaps of toyota lexan Vr and Vs look alikes, i ran up to one and said i want this, dads said whats that i said a vs durr...looked at the rear and it said lexan i was like wtf...but yea i seen alot of em around..

The Lexcens also have way more modern mud flaps and some extra rubber moulds on the body and are better optioned, They came with a 5? year warrenty and cost about 5 grand more than a Commodore when new.
They are worth more as far as insurance companies are concered (about 2 grand more) and cost much less to insure so 3800_man you are the one that made the smart buy, pity the Commodore owners and be proud of your "Toyota", I don't see Holden running a F1 team anytime soon![]()
Badge engineering!
And I don't see toyota running anything in the V8 Supercar series.Originally Posted by Mr Squiggle

Let's face it though, for years car companies have been rebadging other companies cars. Ever wondered where the Holden Apollo came from? Yep, it's a Toyota.

i took my commodore badges off my commodore i hate them tacky badges after my respray never could put them back on. if i had a 5.0l i would keep them tho :P
I own a VS lexcen myself. The biggest difference on the Lexcen to the Commodore is the front panels. They are stateman panels not commodore panels. You'll find this out if you ever try to get a body kit for yours![]()
I would take the badges off all together on the back. Thats what i did to mine. but it left a glue stain so i got it resprayed and it looks pretty mad with no badges on the boot. another reason for takin off my badges was they were getting realy faded.
