    Default Just Got My Chip

Hi everyone got my chip from Dr Bob on the weekend (will send my old one back next week) very impressed. Car actually starts better, idles better, sounds better and cruises better. I noticed a bit of power especially through gear changes.

And greenfoam ive gone from 9.8sec 0-100kph to 8.8sec so about 1 sec better time is this good or standard and would you be able to work out how many kilowatts this would equate to?

Anyways now to watch my fuel gauge drop before my eyes ive noticed its guzzling it already but thatll be mainly my testing out the chip.

    Cheers

Come on man you should know I'm retired from forum posting but since you asked a question to me especialy. That's ALOT of extra power could be even 20kw, but your still running a fair bit slower than a stock VN so once you figure out why that is you'll be sweet. I raced my car today, it was a piece of crap . This is how my first run on a drag strip went.

    Nervious, pastey mouth.
Cruise up to the 1/8th mile start line, lights stage (I'm next to a like 500hp car with no zoorst so I can't hear anything) Stall up the VP. Light goes green (realised later you have to go on the last yellow of even before that)

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTfeat her throttleBORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
    2nd gear
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO(look in mirror and see a smoke cloud)OOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTT..... ..TractionBOoooooooRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
    finsh line..............

Got alot of thumbs up from little kids in the crowd but run 11.7!!!!!!! on the 1/8th mile I swear slower than a VW beetle

Anyway I ended up running 9.8 with just crazy amounts of wheelspin like I've only ever seen before on a wet road in the middle of a storm, another guy there reckons I had enough mph and power to get my 9.4 if I had of got some traction, I was able to run faster than a 5 liter "VP" Ute which was in brand new condition that was getting good traction with his LSD and better tires than me. I was running 4mph faster than the ute with 1/10th as much traction but his average 60 foot time was .3 seconds faster than my best one and that's where (on the GRIPPY street) my car gets it's good times from, I was also running a very mild tune today with stock spark advance up to 2400 rpm so I had zero chance of wheelspin, worked well on the road out front of my house but not so good on the track

would anyone have any ideas of why my car would be slow as the engine is sounding fine (mechanics advice but how do you really know) and is regulary serviced. would i get much out of new leads and distributor/coil thingy and some new TB/exhaust sensors. i have a small rear main leak would this cause much performance loss???
