According to my rego papers my VN 5ltr sedan weighs 1330kg. A VP should be the same. It should be on your rego papers.

I have an original sales brochure for the VP series. In the specifications section it quotes the Executive Sedan at 1332kg and Executive Wagon at 1380kg.

This probably won't help you too much because you have a V8SS so there will be a few more kg's on top of that.

I'll have a look through some old Wheels magazines i've got in the shed and see if they do any road tests on the VP SS. they usually have specs with those...

    (Edit)
Ok, just been down to the shed at 1:30 in the morning. I had to satisfy my own curiosity.

Dec 91 Wheels Magazine quotes the Kerb Weight for the VP SS with automatic transmission at (1360kg).

Just for the record, i also found the Kerb Weights for the VP Senator 5000i (1630kg) and VP SV91 (1592kg).

WOW man, thanx heaps Spike, talk about going above n beyond the call of duty, scrounging thru the shed @ 1am.So SS auto is 1360 n I have a manual, so maybe 1330's a pretty good estimate, as those 700's r bloody heavy compared. Just got 1 of those Virtual engine calculators which calculates theoretic 1/4 mile times based on weight n engine output, which tells me that if u put a basic CAPA Vortech kit (V2SQ, sposedly gives u 310 FWKw)on a standard 5 litre engine, it should, based on a vehicle mass of, I put 1350(2976lb), should give u a 1/4 time of 11.81 @ 114mph(sounds impressive!) but then I spose u have 2 factor in reaction time, wheelspin, weight of driver n his/her driving ability, blah, blah, blah.
    Mmmm, got me thinking...
