ok...so ever since ive got my car ive hated my front bumper...its fadedish, paint peeling in a few bits and doesn't sit on straight (unnoticableISH)
thinking of getting a vp sport front bumper for my car, only the front bumper for now coz thats all i can afford....would that look alright or hang down too much compared to the side skirts and rear bumper?
cheers for opinions/info
****a story ...
yer reversing out of driveway today....annnnnd the two cm thick side strip got caught on a pole (pole's fault) and yer half the bumper fell off...so we put it back on pretty dodgily as it was 7pm on a cold night and i couldn't be ****ed otherwise, possibly completely ****ed but didn't suss it much...no damage done to paint or anything,....but yer now a valid excuse to get a new bumper![]()
it'd look a little off from the side, but still look good from the front and no different from the rear. Its what i was gonna do at one stage when i had my first argument with a guard rail lol. But I found some money and paid a deposit at a bodykit place here in adelaide and now im waitin for it to go on my VN.
I reckon it would be alright.

The front bar wouldnt look too bad depending on what you get, some amy hang too low, but it eouldnt matter that much, just remember its there when you shoot through a spoon drain or up a driveway
its a VY clubby kit with different sides. Its $2355 at a discounted price from ASV.
****ING EXPENSIVE! I can get VY Kits for VN-VP for $650+Postage....... Then u get it painted.
Cheers

+ postage is a bit of an understatement man. Postage on bodykits isn't cheap, it'd be atleast a few hundred dollars. I wanted just a front bar from Canberra and australia post quoted like $220 just for the front bar. Plus I found cheaper prices from interstate places but I would rather have it fitted and painted at the place I buy it and make sure it fits perfect.
Plus the sideskirts are HSV GTO Coupe style and they're being made special because ASV dont make them for VN/VP's. They used to come from Fabtech but Fabtech went out of business.
Plus theres a genuine VR group A bonnet scoop included in the price.
For the cheap VY kit you're talking about, it probably wouldnt fit very well or look as good. And after postage thats still gonna be $1000 maybe more. Add on professional paint and fit and a genuine bonnet scoop, plus fog lights and getting them wired up and then add on mesh as well and it aint gonna be that much cheaper is it.
freight isnt too bad.... just search around before u choose
Hmmm, ASV, i dont like those guys and ill never deal with them, i went down there to enquire about an aero kit, (now they are expensive, 4k!!!), and they were more interested in walking me out the door, they even opened it for me before i had finished talking, but meh, if your happy to deal with them, good luck
VR group A bonnet scoop? What the hell does that look like?
its the same as a VN group a scoop but it has an air intake opening at the front.
I didnt have any problems with ASV when dealing with them and i've been told their kits are very good. So thats basically why im getting mine from then. But i must admit they've had me waiting a while, they had a few problems with the rear bar, apparently it was 5mm off or something.
Oh and was that kit gonna be for your SV3800? I would leave a HSV with the stock kit?
Yeah, the kit was for the SV, only because the 3800s had a simple kit, much the same as an S pack, without a rear skirt and it has HSV side skirts, i wanted something a little larger, but im not going to now, just an SS skirt on the rear to lower it a little and cover the Long range tank and a re spray and thats it
What was the bonnet scoop/massive bulge on the bonnet of the kit your trying to sell, that looks like a tough bonnet
CHeers
Yeah that was a custom job by the guy that owned the car. I agree it looks pretty good...i bought the vn2nv plates off him as well as those guards with the VZ SS vents and of course the bodykit that im now selling. He said he culd sell me the bonnet too....but then it'd just have been a complete copy of his car. I must say tho its very nice, in person it looks very tough.
Do you ever go on the RCK cruises?
Nah, no cruises at all for me just yet, just with my mates, mates go on them though. Once new rims, exhaust and paint job comes through the car will be out and about
