My mate's VN wont start after shes been running for a while then turned off. Apart from that, the car is in great condition, extractors, calais interior, new starter motor, new fuel pump. He took it to a mechanic who gave it a free quick look and he had no idea. He is almost off his L's and we want to get it going so he can drive us places when we are drunk. Can anyone help?
Thanks
lots of post about this sort of thing. I suggest Crank Angle Sensor, it happened to my VP
I actually just spotted a thread a few down
also check the sticky for vn-vp faults
check fuel regulator
Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.
Even in our sleep we happen to be right.

more than likely your crank angle sensor next time it happens carefully pour some water over the crank pulley to cool off the pulley and sensor, the sensor is behind the pulley.if it goes its a good chance the CAS is gone
check the battery and connections as well
CRANK ANGLE SENSOR happens in all commodores. cheap to replace $150-$250

VY works currently in PRODUCTION!!

Just a quick question bsbozzy, when you say it wont start do you mean it wont start at all or do you mean it just takes longer to start when hot than when it is cold? If it takes longer to start when hot, then does it blow black smoke out the exhaust and smell like fuel when it does start? If so, it could be leaking injectors.
Its in the mechanics now getting the crank angle sensor replaced. Injectors are fine, they have already checked that.
