code 44

hi i just did a code error check on my engine and i get a code 44 which is oxygen sensor lean, what does this mean do i need a new oxygen sensor ? i just had a new one put on less than a year ago when i got the extrators put on.

it could be an exhuast leak or somehting like that too. reset the computer and see if it shows up again

ok the battery has been diconnected for about 2 days while it was having some panel work done does having the battery disconnected reset the computer

will do, i only did the check cause my car dont start first thing in the morning you have to click it over for about 15 seconds then the oil light goes out then you hear the fuel pump come on then it starts i thought there might have been a code for that but i will try again in a few days thanks

well if the oil light goes out then the fuel pump starts that could be a sign that ur fuel pump relay has gone, because the fuel pump piggybacks over onto the oil pressure switch. therefore the starter motor needs to be operated for a longer period than normal

ok well i still get the code 44 everyday when i drive

the engine light wont come on till the car gets to operating temprature ive noticed but it is still a code 44 as i checked everyday and yeah it still takes about 15-20 secs to crank over in the morning

i have my mates dad looking at it on sunday so hopfully he can find the problem im hoping its not the oil pickup pipe in the sump casue thats gonna be a bitch to fix but it still doesnt solve my code 44
