has anyone got msd ignition on a vp v6. r they any good and how much do they cost? Where do ya get them from? (autobarn???) any info would be appreciated as i want to get them next week if they r worth getting?
yeah im on the same shoes.. on a totally none related topic "vpv6wagon" so you use that twin thorttle body setup on your wags.. just wondering does that touch your bonnet. Cause the way i was going to do mine i would have to cut a massive hole in my bonnet but i dont wanna have to chop my bonnet anymore. To noticable.
from what ive heard they are just yellow dude, as in they offer no noticable improvment. also ive heard that they are more prone to fail , as in people have had theirs fail when peeps wth normal vn s2- vt packs have lasted longer.
they are about $76 a coil so times it by 3 and there is your price
no i designed it so it won't. just enough room though but i reckon a bonnet bulge looks cool. not using it at the moment, i'm in the process of rebuild my spare motor for forced inducdion so i'm going to wait to fit it up, but it does fit i fitted it to my spare vn just to make sure it would. do u know the part no. for the msd coils (i lost my street commodores issue no.88 they were fitted 2 v6 vengence).
MSD ignition would do shitall to the performance of your car. Theres nothing wrong with what it has unless it has been worked or atleast upgraded fuel delivery system ,it would be overkill otherwise. Plus they dont make anything specifically to fit.Originally Posted by vpv6wagon
So no it wouldnt be worth getting
what about the ones that were fitted to v6 vengence in street commodores
all they do is give a stronger spark. If i remember rightly someone told me they are about 400ish.. so yeah. but i cant be sure
Yeah but that had beefed up internals so it would benefit from a small MSD coils. Im talking about a standard motor it would gain no benefit.Originally Posted by vpv6wagon
Yeah on a stock engine its fairly pointless. I have heard as well that they are prone to failing more than the stock commodore ones. No idea why though. I presume they would come with a warranty though? Atleast 12 month.
vps are sweet nice power nbut not alot of airflow to the engine![]()
but still a good car
