And does anyone know how many nuts there are on each piece as i am limited with tools and do not having a socket set. 2 13 mm nuts and a gasket, disconnect the accelerator cable and kickdown cable if its an auto, disconnect the throttle position switch, the idle air cotrol and the egr valve that joins onto your rocker cover, oh and your vacuum lines on the side of the T/B

You only need to remove the intake pipe, then undo two bolts (maybe one bolt one nut) that hold the t/b onto the elbow running into the manifold. Disconnect all the hoses and electricals from the t/b and unhook the cable(s) from the accelerator (and auto if it applies).

You should now have the t/b in your hands. Be VERY careful taking it off, the gasket is just a shitty little paper thing and tears very easily.

Attempted to remove TB today and had no luck. Took the Kickdown cable off and encountered 1st prob. The springs are really rooted and the metal washer is cracked. Now prob 2......got my mini shifter and the top nut is too close to the windscreen plastic thingy and bonnet bay so i cant undo. The bottom nut has the fuel/injector rail in the way. Both nuts are not accessable with the shifter or even with a wrench with the ring end. It seems i will have this problem even with a socket wrench with the right angle thingy as there is little room.
Does anyone else have this prob or is there a different tool to use.

I just used a socket on the end of an 8" extension bar with a ratchet on the end. Works a treat.
